Crawley snap up winger Lee Elam

The BBC WEBSITE SAYS Crawley boss Francis Vines has signed winger Lee Elam, who was released by Morecambe at the end of last season.

The 28-year-old has previously played for Southport, Halifax, Yeovil, Chester, Hornchurch and Burton, as well as having two spells at Morecambe.

"I chased Lee after his departure from Hornchurch, but he decided a move back to his native north was the better option," Vines told the club website

really...well hardly prolific is it....he was after all paid a great deal of money to score goals...

of course he was 'injured' for much of the the 3 months prior to november..some could say that it gave him the time to travel back north to see his girlfriend whilst he was being treated up there...I of course wouldn't dream of saying such a thing....

we are all entitled to opinions and mine is that he was overpaid and underperformed...as did several others who have been much applauded from that team...

I heard he got a caravan as a signing on fee?

Won't argue with you unc as I don't know what happened behind closed doors.
Personally he never did it for me, a bit of a showboater and liked a lot of the ball.

its always open to opinion of course but having said what I've said you also have to ask the question

'should players be moved across the country at our level'...?

we don't have the infrastructure to look after them and their families in the right way and as much as Hx in the confsth was run on professional lines (on the pitch)...we still did not really have the set up to accomodate these young players....loneliness and homesickness can lead quite easily to loss of form and a demotivated player...
