Greetings to all loyal Margate FC. fans from the

the W. coast of Canada and from somebody who has finally figured out how to get registered o this Forum.

Who is:-

a former resident of Westgate-on-Sea.

a former student of Chatham House in Ramsgate.

saw his first game at Hartsdown Park in 1933,just before the club became the nursery for Arsenal and just prior to the arrival of old Jack Lambert as player/manager (no coaches in those days - just a manager,a trainer and a bunch of volunteers)

Again sincere greetings to all football fans everywhere - Ramsgate too.

I also wish to convey my condolences to Margate FC.fans who may have lost friends or relatives in the shocking events in London yesterday.

Jack M. 8th.July 2005.

Jack, you are incredibly welcome.

How lovely to hear from you. I do hope you will be able to follow our fortunes during the coming season, and that we will hear from you often.

We have a Canadian link in the club, because a smashing lad called Ross, from Ontario, played in the team last year, an incredible defender and wonderful player, and I think I am not alone in hoping we see him back at Harsdown this year.

My very best wishes to you Jack. Perhaps if you know Broadstairs and harbours you might remember my late father Arther Pay also ex Royal Navy. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Geoff.

I did not know your father - I was in the Royal Marines, 4 R,m, Commando out of Deal, Chatham and

Pompey. I am indeed familiar with Broadstairs. in fact I had a sister who lived there in St.Peters on Beacon Road.

My best to and all who use this Forum and ,as they say 'UP THE 'GATE'.
