CVA

I know you all may not want to be talking about this right now but it must be getting to the time when the Creditor's Meeting is called. Its been 2 months now and no deal has been signed.

Has anybody heard anything about the CVA? The Inland Revenue hasnt agreed to anything from what Ive seen. I fear that Cambridge got lucky because the Sports Minister personally intervened.

One thing I cant work out is that as Active Signs has become the main sponsor, has KP asked Active Signs to loan them the necessary finances to cover the IR debt? If Active Signs is serious about being a sponsor and seeing that the number of sponsorships and other revenue streams have been successful, Active Signs could expect to be paid back sharpish. It would only be enough to sort out this CVA mess. Just a thought.

No James, we dont want to talk about it! Lets leave the club and sponsor to worry about those aspects and let us supporters worry about things that WE can do. I am sure you mean well but it should not be a problem for us fans to worry about and in any case the directors are doing a fine job with everything else so we should have no fears that they arent up to scratch with everything else. They are no mugs, they know what the score is,they understand all that you have mentioned and we should remain positive that whatever they do will be correct and be sorted out to our benefit. Have faith!

END OF SUBJECT.. I HOPE!

James.I am sure you could be of great value to the club/misa if you concentrated your undoubted interlect and energies along a more possitive channel.

In fairness to James, what is the difference between him concerning himself about the CVa,others concerning themselves about whether the grass is green or brown, others re: planning ,and the likes of me who get all uneccessary over why the defence was so rubbish last year;which could be equally constued as negative.

[color:"blue"]On a positive note regarding financial matters, it will be of interest to those living outside the area (and those locals who haven't read the 'Gazette) that the Club was pleasently surprised by the number of people and businesses coming forward offering sponsorship deals. Reading of this support even after two successive relegations goes to show how much our exile really has hurt the Club.

[color:"blue"] Slow, I'm afraid to report, but it will be ready for the Ryman kick off (though possibly not the PSF).

Its important to some of us that the club is well run and solvent after the fiasco of recent years.

So its good that JM asks these questions in my opinion. He obviously cares about the club and that can only be good.

Its important to ALL of us but knocking out figures, statistics and so called-knowledgeable information(though unsubstantiated) WONT change anything in that sphere unless we want to DO something about it. If theres a problem then he or she whoever it may be should put their expertise(assuming they have some) into recommending to the club the way to go. Of course we all CARE but this is generally a forum to discuss matters to do with football and though it IS to do with football its not a subject that the majority can debate on considering that we know not the true standing of the club. Maybe if the club would tell us the TRUE facts about how the club stands & how they are going to deal with these problems(assuming that there are actual problems of course), then, and only then can we really have a debate on the subject. As fans we should realise that it is out of our hands and therefore we should just be concentrating on supporting the club and doing whatever we can, outside of those things mentioned, and forget about the ins and outs of the internal affairs of the club. We are concerned, of course we are, but we dont know whats going on in truth and no amount of so-called classy talk will change what is being done behind the scenes.

James, despite all his high class, sensible, looks good to everybody talk dosent himself really know whats going on and therefore it all boils down to a chap, with a good brain, trying to be a high flier before his time, and to my eyes thats what it all looks like to me from where I am standing.

I think James should enter into politics as that seems to be where his undoubted skills should be put to use.

It dosent CONCERN me in that way. Its NOT my business(Literal trerms). Just so long as we can see the club thriving again, see our team playing again then the rest, surely is somethng we should HOPE will continue to the good. Lets let those that make the decisions up high, make those decisions. We are fans of the club, theres no doubt about that. We can support the club, but we dont RUN the club and therefore I feel that we shouldnt really feel that the club are OBLIGATED to give out information in these matters(though its always nice to get updates of anything to do with club). As for giving out the "true facts". How do you know the facts they do give out AREN'T true facts.Proveto me otherwise and if you can do that then you may have a point. How about a bit of trust for once.

I think the club does have an obligation to tell you whats going on. How much money have you spent relating to MFC? After spending such huge amounts of money do you not think it unreasonable for MFC to ensure you are kept up to date on issues, especially the biggest problem to face MFC in its history?

The fans knew nothing about the debts owed to the creditors until I asked about the CVA. Before then our last update on the financial situation was back in May 2004. Strictly speaking we werent suposed to know about the debt figure until March next year! 22 months for a financial update.

You must recognise that the two month self imposed deadline is past. The Inland Revenue wants its money. An update on the CVA wouldnt be a bad thing, if only to say how much longer this process will take. If a deal isnt negotiated soon, Itll become less and less likely that the club will survive.

James, all this was explained at the meeting, at which you were present, did you not hear?

If I were you, I would await the outcome of the planning meeting, and council meeting, due this month, which should see the resolution of this situation.

The club had everything in hand the last time we all came together, keep your powder dry and let them get on with it.

We now have the pitch, the portacabins, the sponsors, CK is getting the team together, we are ordering our shirts, looking forward to the PSF's, and soon we will be at Hartsdown painting away. This is all GOOD STUFF. Concentrate on the positives, there's a good chap.

jkmaskell, funny to see the seriousness of your posts deteriate as the thread continues. Personally I think it is important to have a "healthy" interest in your teams finances etc, but "at the end of the day" (obgligitary football cliche), I think that it isn't something you can easily speculate about and if the club don't want to show off their finacial stuff they aren't going to. Best just to look forward to the stuff on the pitch this year...

I think we just need to concentrate on getting margate back to thier homeground atlast. Save the nit picking for afters? If margate didnt have the finacial backing youd think that it wouldn't be going ahead. And as for 'footballfan' ( if thats what you cal yourself) bugger off back to that dive that you call Ramsgate, we dont need people like you cloging up the forum with junk that you, 'supposidly', call comments.........
