Gazza - good call, pleased to say family are all safe;

An awful day for all involved; brings back some bad memories of the IRA attacks.

best wishes to everyone; Phil

My heart goes out to all who may have lost loved ones. Thanks to the emergency services etc ...

As you may know, I work in Wallington which is just past Croydon and have to rely on public transport.

Left work just before 11:00. London Bridge was open and I walked to Liverpool Street. It was eerie... no traffic, just a few people, roads block off etc. It was shut so walked to Fenchurch St. Train to Barking, Bus to Ilford, Bus to Debden where I arranged for a lift back to the Abbey. Eventually got in doors about 4:30.

So much for networks etc... the .net was virtually screwed under the strain of the users and most mobile networks were out. My family were distraught knowing that I travel via Liverpool Street and not being able to get contact...

I think my brother is probably getting drunk right now. One of his mates was driving a train which was going past one of the ones which blew up at the time of the explosion. I sort of know the bloke as well so I am a bit shaken up about this. The last I heard he was in hospital with severe shock. Fortunately Andy was stuck at Uxbridge at the time and didn't get caught up in any of it, other than having an awful journey home.

I hope everybody else avoided any loss or injury.

As a mere civil servant based in Victoria today, I echo all of the above. As ever & under such circumstances, I hope I join us all in offering the upmost praise & respect to all those involved with the emergency services. And also to those managing communications. We owe them all a debt of gratitude after what continues to be, for so many, the most difficult of days. While I am so angry right now, I also feel very humble.

Dont think there will ever be a way of stopping the atrocities of yesterday, but what London proved yesterday is just how superbly trained & organised our emergency services are, we are Im sure all very proud of them all.

While we mourn the loss of those who lost their lives & our thoughts are with their family & friends a simple message to those responsible, whoever you are,

You will never win, London is still here, buisness as usual!

I'd have thought it was obvious from my post - 'see you all at the Harrow game' - that I wasn't coming to the Cheshunt one. The implication is there. However, I am genuinely sorry that you have chosen to take offence at this.

As regards being rude, it's none of your business why I can or cannot come to a game. Who is actually being rude here?

I will restrain myself from telling you what I truly think of your comment, Gazza, except to say it is well over the top, considering you don't know who I am and I don't know who you are.

Logging off for today now.

Junior, you say in an accusatory tone 'why won't you be there' and follow it up with 'don't be rude'. Can you not see how those two comments sit badly together?

Grumble grumble grumble. My feelings aside, I am sorry you have chosen to take offence, Junior. I am grateful for and should be rightfully humbled by your excellent 'fixture alert' service 50/50 sales will remain unaffected!

Gazza - 'only banter'? Hmmm. Well, put it down to the fact that I came rather close to being disintegrated yesterday. Maybe I'm still a bit jumpy, you know?

Anyway, this is all trivial compared to yesterday's atrocities. I'm just glad everyone is safe and well. Peace and comradely affection to you all. See you at the Harrow game and not before! Don't push it!
