i thought that only happened if a nuclear device was set off within 5 miles of the boozer.. i am hoping my usual pub will be open.. but judging by the reaction of some ozzies today i fear all the bar staff may be under the tables rather than waiting on them

ahh thats better.. in a crisis head for the pub.. seems the fenchurch st line is open and the main way of ferrying the liverpool st essex types out of the city..

gertcha was on the train between King X and Russell Sq (or if he wasn't on that one he was on the one durectly behind), he was in the back carridge and managed to walk down the track, he is ok and just arrived at mine looking like a 1920's chimney sweep boy.

Mate of mine works about 300 yards from Liverpool Street station. He heard two of the blasts go off and got to Liverpool Street minutes after the first bomb went off on the tube.

 

Pretty scary stuff.

I went into work (in Euston) today, having travelled back from Scotland yesterday (I was in Perth, I just seem to go from one major news story to another!). Got in at 11.30, and walked past Kings Cross and also the road where the bus exploded.

 

There were LOADS of members of the media there and emergency services workers. Saw news companies appear to have rented out some cranes and parked them next to Euston station in order to see over the barriers that have sealed off the road towards Tavistock place. I also saw some people with pictures of missing relatives standing about, which was heartbreaking.

 

I'm just so glad I was in Scotland these past two days, if I hadn't been I would definitely have been walking past when the bus bomb went off. I am one lucky girl!

Went to London on Friday to catch the Eurostar to Paris and the atmosphere was horrible, terribly tense. You felt something could kick off at any time. It will settle down eventually but I imagine for anybody working in London the atmosphere will be terribly tense for a few weeks.
