Just read latest edition of the News Shopper, headline reads.Chase over as Daish lands his man.

says we signed smith for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £250,000. Has Roman Abramovich taken over the fleet. More like a figure of £2,000.

Ha ha ha, no seriously, where did this reporter get the idea that we spent £250,000 on one player? that's the sort of amount a league club would be spending, not us, unfortunately.

You shouldn't listen to rumours. There is a sell on cluase as well as a payment based on appearances.

It's clearly a typo, something contributors to this thread aren't exactly strangers to.

how comes there is no mention of a sell on clause on the club website then? All it says is about two payments for appearances.

Or.... is it just a case of us only being able to recruit players from lower leagues than us again ?

 

I hate to be a doom a gloom merchant, but at the moment we have, on paper, a weaker and smaller squad than last season.

 

ie we have released experienced Conference players and replaced them with unproven players from lower leagues.

 

I fear the worst !
