I see those parasites of my youth, Maidstone United , play at Win City in the FA Cup.

Ah, how the mighty - fantastic.

As we used to say,'If Kent is the Garden of England then Maidstone is the compost heap'.

Bitter and twisted - nah!!

Margate's cup tie also shows their decline... home to Chichester City, East Preston or Cowes Sports! Not so long ago, we were doing that!

Attitude was the key.

I remember us winning at East Grinstead 4-1, a competent job under Sitford, and Easterby getting on the supporters coach afterwards and apologising for so few goals(!).

Contrast that with the win 4-3 at Dorking when McCluskey was 'in charge', - a jittery , anything can happen and it probably will- type of game.

And as underdogs the win at Sutton United - wonderful.

Ah, the magic of the FA Cup, there's more to it than the fog at 'Plucky' Cinderford!
