Interesting to read however that the council required 23 conditions to be met first, some of them being announced on the day that the planning application was due to be heard. Does that sound familiar?

Maybe we should get to the council offices AGAIN, on the evening when OUR council makes yet another hopeful decision concerning our club, but not in demonstration mode, but to let them see that we are still here. A nice peaceful gathering outside the offices with full colours. Maybe lobby councillors as they go in but nothing more than being together on the night. Could be time to do so again. As many as possible to attend. Maidstone fans turned up in force so why shouldnt we.

I would like to know what you think and to see if we are up for it or would you all prefer to just sit back at home and hope that the council comes a decision for us WITHOUT the support from us.

Comments please! Us being there showing again our support and doing so peacefully and politely can't possibly jeapordise any decision that may be forthcoming to the good.

Replies please and your thoughts and comments.

Good idea mate. I think that they should know how much the development means to us and that we will not lay down and die. We should check first that the football club are ok with it though. Ezekiel's got to listen. To go upwards and onwards we need the hotel and training pitches for the youth section. If Thanet Council do let us down again they wont only be letting the football club down. It will also affect the youth section and us. The youth sections training facilities will again be poor. We'll be restricted on income and we'll have to find other ways of making money at the club. Anyway GL's stuck with this for a very long time so he must believe he will get the development in the end.

?????. Can someone find out. Maybe the first one. At least we will know if we have been forwarded to the full council. If so, then a further appearance the next day should be made i.m.o.

Dont quote me mate but I believe we have approval and its only got to go to full council now. Cant see why it would need to be on the cabinet agenda! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/chloe.gif" alt="" />

I believe we will still be playing at HP but work will continue if that is the case. I think IMO that work will be done one side of the ground at a time.

Just to clear up as regards to the commercial development planning meetings this month at thanet council.

From the MFC Website:-

The Club has also received confirmation that our detailed planning application submitted in December 2004, will go before the planning committee on 20 July 2005 and then on to full council on 21 July 2005 to be ratified.

I take from this that between december and now all the problems have been ironed out. I know that their will be no medical centre now.

Lets hope all runs smoothly.

According to KP at the last club house meeting,he expected it would take 3+months to get all the prospective tennants or enough to make it viable signed up and the legal paper work completed. Then construction could start. The club would continue to play at Hartsdown. If we are to let the council know we still are as keen as ever,we ought to have a demonstration in support at the council offices on the night. i believe the last one had a big impact,i had good feed back fron people in my car.
