"REBELS TO MEET FOR 'CLARIFICATION'

A special meeting between the playing staff and management of Slough Town has been called for this weekend.

The Rebels are moving towards a third season of ground-sharing with fellow Ryman Premier league side Windsor & Eton at Stag Meadow.

But Windsor chairman Peter Simpson has warned that he wants the rent to be paid in full on August 1.

For the past two seasons the Rebels have paid in instalments, causing financial headaches for their hosts.

Slough manager Eddie Denton has been unable to recruit players to his squad in the absence of information about a budget for next season.

The Slough players will be given a full update of the situation and the management will lay out plans for the season ahead.

Although several players have accepted offers from other clubs, no further departures have taken place, and they will be eagerly awaiting to the the outcome of the meeting.

It is understood the clubs current backer Martin Deaner and secretary Roy Merryweather have been discussing the way forward for the Rebels to continue with proper funding. Talks have been taking place with both the Ryman League and the FA who are both satisfied with the progress that is being made.

But Denton says that he and the players have been very concerned and is looking forward to the get together at the weekend.

Players that have left the Rebels include Matt Murphy, who was top scorer last season, Mike Murphy, Matt Miller, Veli Hakki and Danny Steer.

On a more positive note, the club has arranged several preseason friendlies, the first is Saturday July 23 against Uxbridge"

I know Gary Chappell's been desperately trying to get hold of Martyn Deaner this week, but I believe he did not get back to him before the paper's deadline.

"REBELS TO MEET FOR 'CLARIFICATION'

A special meeting between the playing staff and management of Slough Town has been called for this weekend. Good we have all been waiting for this.

The Rebels are moving towards a third season of ground-sharing with fellow Ryman Premier league side Windsor & Eton at Stag Meadow. Again good that is what we wanted confoirmed But Windsor chairman Peter Simpson has warned that he wants the rent to be paid in full on August 1. I bet he does we all would like to get paid a year in advance

For the past two seasons the Rebels have paid in instalments, causing financial headaches for their hosts. Not as big a financial headache if we went elsewhere with £25k and £xxxx bar receipts

Slough manager Eddie Denton has been unable to recruit players to his squad in the absence of information about a budget for next season. But not unable to check them out and compile a shopping list for when he does get it

The Slough players will be given a full update of the situation and the management will lay out plans for the season ahead. Excellent, again what we all want

Although several players have accepted offers from other clubs, no further departures have taken place, and they will be eagerly awaiting to the the outcome of the meeting. 3 released as surplus. Smurph2 went home and smurph1????

It is understood the clubs current backer Martin Deaner and secretary Roy Merryweather have been discussing the way forward for the Rebels to continue with proper funding. Excellent Talks have been taking place with both the Ryman League and the FA who are both satisfied with the progress that is being made. Good that sounds like that is a tick in the box

But Denton says that he and the players have been very concerned and is looking forward to the get together at the weekend. As have we all

Players that have left the Rebels include Matt Murphy, who was top scorer last season, Mike Murphy, Matt Miller, Veli Hakki and Danny Steer. Eh? include that is the sum total is it not

On a more positive note, the club has arranged several preseason friendlies, the first is Saturday July 23 against Uxbridge" the rest sounds pretty positive to me!!

its POTENTIALLY a positive article, it may say that this meeting will happen etc, but its what happens in this meeting that will determine what good comes from the article, we shouldnt get too excited about it until it is done, and we have to sit and wait for it to happen
