What was it like, it werent featured on radio kent so didnt have a clue what was going on? Did the Fleet play poor at all? or Are forest green just coming back under new management? and would there be any chance of a programme of todays match?? Cheers

Fleet did not play well today and FGR were not that much better but with this being their first home match since the appointment of their new manager it was always going to be difficult. FGR scored with the only decent chance in the first half before doubling their lead from the penalty spot in the 2nd half. Sodje got a goal back but it was too late and the Fleet never really troubled the FGR goalie. Kwashi replaced Owen at half time and Parker made his comeback with a late apperance, but both these subs made little impression on the game.

Difficult choice for my MOM as there were not too many candidates but would choose between Burton or Wilkins.

A disappointing result for us but one that was just about deserved. While we probably created just as many chances as Forest Green (e.g. Che's free header wide in the first half, Burton's header just over and McKimm's shot against the post in the second), their incisive fast counter-attacks and better commitment (i.e. closing us down well, particularly on the flanks) gave them the edge overall in my view. But for some good defending by Wilkins and Burton (my Fleet MOTM) it could have been worse for us.

There was nothing that Wilkerson could have done with either goal - the first a superb 20-yard curler from their number 29 (Odejayi - a deserved MOTM). Lew Watts shouldn't have let him cut inside, but at least he improved markedly in the second half. The second was a well executed penalty, which had to be given after a desperate lunging tackle by Wilkins, and again Wilkerson had no chance.

Worries today included the fact that we were often beaten in the air from Forest Green's set pieces, but thankfully the majority of them went wide or over. Also, the perils of starting with Sodje were exposed - he encourages us to hit long balls up to the forward line instead of using our natural passing game. More often than not, these balls actually found Che, who was unsurprisingly no match in the air for Forest Green's tall centre backs.

On the bright side, we have only dropped two places in the table despite our defeat, and won the previous two league games before yesterday. If every defeat from now until the end of the season is preceded by two victories, I will be more than satisfied.

Good to see another healthy Fleet following at yesterdays match. However, there wasn't a great deal to cheer about as it was mainly a day for the home team to welcome their Manager, Colin Addison, for his first home game. I thought the result was just about right, we didn't perform as well as we

could.

I am afraid to say it was a case of too many long balls again

and giving possession away too easily. On the plus side, Che

looked lively and Burton had another solid performance.
