Margate supporters will welcome the news that training commences on Tuesday, 5th July and the Ryman Premier League club are expected to complete their first new signing tomorrow, writes Stephen McCartney.

A full meeting of the development team took place yesterday (30th July), the purpose was to review the programme of works and the requirement to step up the labour force, which was agreed and arranged for next Monday, 4th July 2005.

Several contractors were finally secured and orders places, all in line with the proposed hand-over date of 6th August 2005.

During the course of the day the first meeting of the safety committee took place.

Officers of Thanet District Council, Kent Fire Brigade, Kent Police and the Kent Ambulance inspected the Hartsdown Park stadium and walked the site.

Margate's new strip has now been selected and ordered.

Home colours are blue and white and the change kit will be amber and black.

Samples of the new kit were put on show inside the clubhouse yesterday evening, as the club's main sponsor was in attendance.

Comments of the fans present were taken on board and changes made reflecting those comments.

It was expected that replica shirts will be available from the end of July.

All of the club's youth teams, including the ladies will start this season in the new strip and the club would like to record a further thank you to their new sponsors, Active.

Margate continue to await further news regarding their CVA proposal and their development partners have now issued a letter of undertaking to the Football Association, confirming the balance of football debts will be paid in full by mid July.

BY ANY CHANCE DOES HE HAPPEN TO BE THE PORTUGESE WINGER JOSE PIPE?
