Northern Soul - the truth uncovered!!

After making my post yesterday about Tainted Love originally being a Northern Soul classic by Gloria Jones (I remember her name, even though the scene is more important than the artists!), something occurred to me...

 

Tainted Love was also covered by the Inspiral Carpets on the Bitches Brew 12".

 

Yep, the alarm bells are starting to ring.

 

So, I did a bit of research on the internet, and it turns out that Clint Boon is a massive fan of Northern Soul!

 

I knew their must be a reason why, in the last 18 months or so, Thornsy had started claiming a love for this kind of music, and it's taken until today for the penny to drop - it's because Clint does!!

 

For a while there mate, you almost fooled me that you were actually into this music for yourself!!

It's true - you only started mentioning the whole Northern Soul passion around the time of the Inspirals reforming. I'm surprised I didn't put two and two together then, to be honest!!

Well I was into the "scene" before that but I won't deny that Clint certainly made me get into it more.
