Maybe some good news?

Recommended Posts

In the non league paper this week:

Paul Doswell the Eastleigh manager thinks we will be a top half team this year...perhaps he knows more than us...or has he been visiting another planet!

The pre season fixtures now include M'head, Burnham, Beaconsfield and Hemel H. does this mean they are now confirmed?

Eddie is quoted as saying 'Our cup runs were financially crucial and have set us up for next season'.

Now as I understood it the £100,000 (must have been this amount) was spent on the police and security. Any clues?

I said this twice now, so let's go over the figures again shall we? From an earlier post:

you can't budget based on a cup run. Our cup runs this year have brought in (according to my figures) £113,000 (taking into account that there are seemingly no guidance for how Bryco cup gate money is shared) but when you take away refs costs (£1,800 not including costs of travel which have to be reimbursed), the cost of stewarding, cost of getting tickets printed, cost of policing and all the other bits and pieces it doesn't leave a lot.

So our Fa Cup and FA Trophy runs brought in £113,000 (minus the cost of policing, referees match fees and travel fees, stewarding, ticketing, etc.)

The Bryco run probably brought in £8,200 IF we don't share the gate money but if we do that's £4,100.

Our league games brought in: £46,893 (based off 21 league games X 319 average attendance x £7 entry fee)

so total income was £163,993. Now that you have that figure you have to take away the costs associated with the FA Cup games (from the second round onwards we were liable to pay the officials from our split of the gate money PLUS there travel costs, the cost of printing the tickets, the cost of the stewards, the cost of the two dozen or so police officers, the cost of the St. Johns Ambulance whom I presume where there. etc) would take away a considerable chunk. Then you have day to day costs associated with the club and then you have the players wages and seeing as we had a squad of 16, plus three coaches and a physio to pay as well then I can't see that we'll be left with a lot.

I would doubt that there'll be any money left over from last years cup run. It will all (or at least most)have been spent on last season. Bound to mean a very tight budget for this season. Being realistic, avoiding relegation might be a result this year.

Grimy, you should apply for Bernard Devines job.

If you get it could you liase more closely with Eddie because if your figures are correct and very little cup money is left then someone must have forgotten to tell him before he made the quote.

I must pick you up on one point-not everyone pays £7. Still you can't be perfect all the time. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

no I'm not perfect. However you're record of coming on every five days and moaning about the lack of information is perfect, so maybe you should apply for Roy's job and get all the news you want

As opposed to moaning I prefer to call it caring what happens to my club but what would you know about caring when you see the club as just a two hour distraction on a Saturday.

For the record, and despite his claims on another thread about his commitment, Grimlock was one of the people who took part in the sponsored walk to Worthing, a commitment slightly longer than 2 hours. 24 hours and 62 miles to be precise (not counting the extra 12 miles we walked) which has raised invaluable funds for the Trust as well as giving the club a much needed publicity boost.

until people are serious in raising money, because thats what we needs , dispite everyone bleating on about MD not paying for this that and the other, he quite clearly stated last season that everyone would have to raise funds to support the club !

what has been done ?

we all have a part to play...time we all did something about it...and those who walked to Worthing have ...
