I sent Libro this picture of Kinga from Big Brother...

...with the caption "Go on Tom, you know you want to!!", and he sent me this reply...

"You idiot, don't send me pictures like that again <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />( I've told you before lots of people can see my email. If you send things like that again I'll have to block you. The person sitting next to me now thinks I'm very odd <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Why don't you ever understand that other people have different work situations to you <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />"

No sense of humour, some people!!

*yawn*

So several people have told you about how the railways run in relation to the controllor and the MD and still you find it a source of great humour.

Lets try this out, your a qualifed brain surgeon and the head of the NHS trust bowls into the hospital and says "No, do it this way", I'm sure he can sack you but he can't tell you how to do brain surgery.

Anyway the MD can't sack me, we are unioned up to the hilt on the railway <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

One person has told me, which was you and let's be honest you told me you'd be on TV in six to eight weeks time about three years ago.

I refuse to believe that if the MD had a good reason he could not sack you on your shift. You are not indespensible.

If it was me I'd call up whoever was spare and get them to come in, then as soon as they arrived I'd get security to remove you from the office.

So you honestly reckon that you can't be sacked during a shift if your conduct warrants it.

Yes, even if I was pissed I could only be sent home after med screening then face a disaplinary hearing.

And it wasn't just me, I called Gordon and got him to confirm it to you.

And had we not been robbed of 250K by some crook I'm pretty sure we would of been on air in 6-8 weeks, people have had to remorgage their houses in order to keep our dreams alive, hopefully it just makes people more determined.

Verulam FM are advertising for DJs.

If you're serious about making it in this kind of media, you should be applying for jobs like this, even if you don't get paid for them (ie Hospital Radio).

It's the only way you'll get discovered.

TV and radio execs don't scour non-league football message forums in the hope of finding the next Chris Evans.

Erm! I've already had a show and been sacked from Verulam FM.

Thank you for the insight into the TV presenting scouting world, to be honest had I of known BPM would take this long I probably would of carried on promoting myself to other companys, but it's a long drawn out competitive and normally fruitless process so when you finally get that "job" (as I did/have) you kind of sit back getting all excited at finally cracking it, little do you know at the time that 6 months can turn onto an eternity <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Is that what they told you ? How did this happen ?

Why were you sacked from Verulam FX? I'm noticing a bit of a trend here!

I remember when you were posting your show-reels to various TV companies, but surely it's better to get out there and start from the bottom working up?

It's a waste of time for bands to send their demos into record companies - they have to get out there and do live gigs night after night.

I know you think I'm taking the piss when I suggest you should try your hand at stand-up in the local comedy clubs, but this is a pretty good way of getting both experience, and then getting spotted hopefully.

Sure, you'll get smart-arses trying to heckle you, but they all do.

As funny as I may be <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I'm no stand up comedian, that is a another kettle of fish.

I was sacked from Verulam due to my music policy and for being far too loud for a MOR radio station, I think I was meant to play Phil Collins and not 5 Kitchens of Dictinction records in a row as part of my "five from the hive" section. Breaking down on the way to the show once and missing the first half hour and having Neil on the show may not of helped either.

The cash was stolen by one David Case, came to the station with a big reputation and genrally made the whole place look more proffessional, it was about image so a couple of Bentlys were brought to park outside to look the part. There were loads of staff and everything was set up for the launch in 6-8 weeks <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />, however Mr Case in the meantime was setting up loads of fake bank accounts and transferring money to himself, a quarter of a million in total. Some research into him afterwards and this isn't the first company he's done it for. The police don't want to know and any court case will be very expensive and probably outweigh the cash that you may or may not get back. So all the staff hsve been sacked (even Paul Morris and Marcus are off the pay roll) and Keith has had to remorgage his house, so we are back down to Keith and Carla and me, like we were two years ago.

For a little bit of revenge though Carla has grassed him up to the inland revenue so he has to pay tax on all them companies he's set up, they won't mess about.

The police haven't got time to deal with it as they are too busy catching people speeding.

Under a Conservative government the priorites of law enforcement would have been different. The police would have acted, the cash returned and you'd be on air.

Still, you voted Labour.

Sadly gertcha this is true. Why spend 1000's on a complex fraud/theft case when the figures look much better with a series of convictions for urinating in public and possession of a flare at a Herts County Cup tie.

And as the St.Albans MP is a tory my vote was ultimatly wothless in the scheme of things unless they've sneaked in proportinal representation without me realising.
