A Mr.Holland comes to mind though he did say that Ray Baker had said something to that effect. Seems both were wrong then or mistaken and everything is hunky dory. Great! Thanks for that John. Any good news is welcome.

Having seen the pitch last night I would say that it is actually coming on rather well. Yes, there are some yellow patches but about 95% of it looks very green and healthy. The remainder will come good when we have a good spell of rain, grass is very hardy. Have been ooking at other large areas of grass as I drive around and it looks a lot better than most of them.

Sigh. How can I break this to you gently? You see, the thing is most Margate fans are happy to see Ramsgate do well. There hasn't been a genuine rivalry between the clubs for 30 years (due to Ramsgate being in the Kent League).

You just don't have the fanbase or cash backing to establish yourselves at a level higher than Ryman One. In fact staying up this season will be an achievement and I hope you do it. Look at the average crowds in that league last season. I think the lowest was 150 – you averaged 120 in a KL championship season.

I'm all for tribalism and hatred (a vital part of football supporting), but you just don't fit the bill. Sorry.
