Richard Whitely

Recommended Posts

The 4th of July was due to be the first day of transmitted episodes that Richard hadn't recorded owing to his illness, with some guest presenters booked.

Personally, I wonder whether the right thing to do would be to show the 5 remaining episodes with Richard in (i.e. this week's) and then retire the programme - especially since those episodes bring us right up to and including the end of the current series.

Twice nightly Whitely was a legend.

I too am a huge fan of the numbers game and quite good at it, however the word game hasn't improved my spelling.

Personally I think they should retire the show now, nobody can match Richard, heard a rumour that Stephen Fry may take over, that won't work as he is geniunlly funny

Although if they are looking for a change of direction I know of a up and coming presenter, a cross between Gervais and Carr. Snap him up though as he may well be fronting his own show in 6-8 weeks

Very sad news. Countdown just won't be the same without him.

We may have to ditch Carol then, but hey she's had a good innings as well.
