Neil Young and Ringo

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the same recording that Ringo did the video for in the 1990 Lennon Memorial Concert. It's been a while since I heard it, but this sounds pretty much the same. Cheers - been after that for a while!

Neil Young very enjoyable. Some excellent mellow stuff on there! I've got the best of Buffalo Springfield at home so knew those tracks already. I recognised some of the others too. A really good compilation - cheers!

I was going to do you the second Buffalo Springfield album but if you have the best of, you've got most of it covered.

Beware the Neil Young back cat...it's a minefield!!! Most of his early albums are tops but some of his later stuff (the cheaper stuff I presume) is dross.

Try

After The Goldrush

On The Beach

Tonights The Night

Rust Never Sleeps (Live Rust as well is good buy)

Zuma (It's okay, not a bad album and has the classic "Cortez The Killer" but that is about it).

Harvest Moon (I think it's better than Harvet and is considered the "sister" album to it).

And get Four Way Street - classic CSN&Y live album, recently remastered and expanded. Much better than "Deja Vue"

The first one? Yes altho very much of it's time. Suite:Judy Blue Eyes is a classic but I would still go for Four Way Street.

Deja Vue is patchy because Young held much of his good stuff back for his solo album and buggered about with the recording process (very much as he did when he was with Buffalo Springfield - hence the reason Stills "had a problem" with him). Actually Neil Young is the original moody [****!!****] of rock. I think it is the "On The Beach" album he loathed and refused, until recently, to have it issued on CD. And the critics and fans love the album...so go figure...
