I think he was vastly underplaed and is and will develop into a quality player.

[color:"blue"]Unfortunately that is one of the characteristics of CK's management style, if you're on the edge of the first team then you've got to force your way into it or you'll spend the best part of the season rotting on the bench ... happened to many like Paul Abbott, Mo, Dean Yorath, Steve Hafner and, I'd guess, was the role CK had in mind for Alexis last season. One of the few exceptions was Jay Saunders who came off the bench and established himself as a lynch-pin to the side.

Once cured of his hot headedeness, i thought Abbott had potential to be as good as or better than Jay, and was allowed to leave and be replaced with one or two other midfielders without the same ability, aggression and physical build

 

Thats why it still niggles a bit with Abbott;but to be fair we do not know the full circumstances.

 

i guess we all have our own ideas ,and personally i could see nothing in Pulman so thought that was right decision, but i really think Abbott has real ability combined with energy.

 

Still we move on; and trust that CK puls some good signings out of bag for next season; and hopefully those with a bit of physical presence

Look at Adrian Webster, only played one game for us and is now a pro at Darlington (and has also been picked for New Zealand!)

Look at Sodje, why did CK let him go? He should have been contracted for a long time for sure. Totally disagree about Abbott had loads of engine but wasn't an accurate passer of the ball. CK rightly let that one go but HAS made big mistakes with other players.

Put a player under contract,yes in Sams case that would have done us a heap of good,but back then putting a player under contract was shall we say a bit ifee,dont know what he was on per week,under contract if a player cant play for a year he still gets paid CK had no money to play with,we can all be great managers with hindsight.
