New Signings

Recommended Posts

Richard Thomas (Justin - "will give us strength and stability in midfield")

George Lay (Justin - "He is an old fashioned winger").

Of both players Justin said that he was "Interseted in both players for some time and is very pleased that they have come to Billericay".

Justin confirmed that he is still looking for two or three more players to strengthen the squad.

(Thanks Gazza)

What do people think? Sad to hear Gothard has gone, but 2 in and 2 or 3 more to come in, as well as some of the younger players coming up. It's looking good...

Interested to see that Justin is planning to use Thomas in midfield, always looked good at centre back when I've seen him play. Pleased that Simmons is staying on as he is a good prospect, also pleased that Price has signed as I liked the look of him on the left with Dorms.

If John Simmons is given his chance he has more than enough ability to grace this league. Plus he is a local lad and his dream was to be a footballer so it means a lot to him.

i think richard thomas is a great signing for us. I thought he was superb for us before. A superb passer of the ball. Not sure about him being the tough tackling ball winner in midfield but then leon and dorms and matt game are not afraid to get stuck in.

Great that Mel is playing on, is he going to be first choice as i think there was an issue with his work commitments last season if i remember right?

How many players is the squad going to consist of?

I would of thought so, otherwise there would be no point havin him.

How many times are we going to have a nervous wait when there is bad traffic this season then?

None fob, Mel doesn't drive. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

He joined us for the last few games because of Goffs injury, but had already committed to working Saturday mornings, and still made every game whatever the circumstance.

This season should be different, he knows in advance that he will play all season and should be able to arrange his hours to suit football.

Your league must be poor if Richard Thomas was superb for you. He was probably one of the worst players ever to pull on a City shirt, he was miles out his depth, and he was assistant manager so you'd think he'd try that little bit harder.

(To a certain theme tune) He could be so good for us...
