MEMBERS MEETING 24TH JUNE 2005 - JUSTIN'S BIT

Recommended Posts

After Steve Kent's speech there was a 10 minutes break so people could re charge their glassess. When the meeting recoviened, Justin spoke about the team.

Here are the bullet points of his speech.

We have kept 90% of the team.

Those that have stayed are

Gary Henty

Dave MacSweeney

Pat Sappleton

Jamie Dormer

Leon Hunter

Matt Game

Neil Cusions

Danny Hockton

Nathan Elder

Ross Wareham

Ben Price

Mel Capleton

John Simmonds

Paul Gothard has left the club and will be going to live in New Zealand as his wife has taken up a nursing post there (I wish Paul and his family all the best and would thank him for his time with the club - GazzaBTFC).

Of those players that are staying, Justin said "these players have shown a tremendous spirit, affection and loyalty for the club and it's supporters. They believe they have a job to do and they want to do it with this club".

Justin then announced the players that he has signed for next season

Richard Thomas (Justin - "will give us strength and stability in midfield")

George Lay (Justin - "He is an old fashioned winger").

Of both players Justin said that he was "Interseted in both players for some time and is very pleased that they have come to Billericay".

Justin confirmed that he is still looking for two or three more players to strengthen the squad.

Jamie Dormer to remain as captain.

Justin then went on to speak about the coming season. "I am a realist but I want to say that the result against Leyton hurt the players as well as the supporters and the club as a whole. The only way to avoid a similar situation next season is to win the league and that is what we are going to do. We are going to win it. The players want to wipe out the memory of the disapointment of the Leyton game".

Of the youth players that playeed for the first team Justin praised the two managers of the Under 16's and Under 18's John and Martin. "we have some quality players coming through the youth teamns. John Simmonds is signing for the first team and Tom Poole and Chris Wayman, who still has a season to run for the Under 18's will be training with the first team and will, on occasions, be a memebr of the first team. We are also looking for a couple more players to come through next season".

Justin then went on to praise the support over the past season and said that "the players appreciate the support and commitment to the team that the supporters have shown. The only way to re pay that support is to have a more successful season next season and win the league".

After Justin spoke, the forum was opened for questions to be put towards Steve Kent and Justin.

The meeting finished 10.15.
