Three records brought this week would probably storm into my Top 10 singles of the year.

 

The Knive - Pass it on

The Lodger - Thank you for your honest opinion

Hard Fi - Hard to beat

Not heard of them, although I think I saw an advert for the Hard Fi album on TV.

Hard Fi last single went Top 20, I'm thinking this'll go Top 10 although he does sound like late 80's Prefab Sprout on this one (which is no bad thing)

The Lodger is played quite a lot on radio 6 and only available on 7" from some obscure Leeds indie lable (where I got it)

The Knive is quite leftfeild and has had tons of plays on Radio 6, it has some steel drums like sounds in it as well, they are from Sweden, I brought it on 12".

Look - just because I put the INXS album at number 99 in my list, that's no excuse for you to start championing crap like Prefab Sprout, mate!

I've got about 3 or 4 Prefab Sprout albums mate, I like them loads, and I've got a couple of Aztec Camera one's as well. However I have no INXS but do have a few singles and a story about Beavers getting wa*ked off by some bird at a INXS gig in Aus, post Hutch!

I have loads of Deacon Blue and Del Amintri, I saw Del Amintri live and Deacon Blue were my favorite band for a while in 1987/88 (until all the indie stuff started to surface in late 88)
