Interesting post on Spurs Message Board...

I honestly didn't think it would come to this with the Frank saga. I was sure that Chelsea would settle. Not because the money being suggested ($10 mill) is nothing to them, nor because they realize they did wrong and some reasonable payment for good relations makes sense, not even because they risk permanently damaging their brand with this reckless behaviour.

The reason doesn't even have to do with the points they may lose. Its got nowt to do with the FA (the association not the man). It is the civil case risks that make be suprised. All of this just uneducated guess work BUT I am pretty sure that Levy decided not to take the deal because he is looking at a civil court action under company law.

There are lots of rules that companies have to follow re: recruitment of senior employees from competitors. There is no reason why the FA saga shouldn't be dealt with in the same way. So what you may wonder - Chelsea get a monster fine and some recourse in civil courts - they can pay what is the loss?

The risk is not in that - the risk is that SPurs decide to ask Roman to testify in the trial (owner of the company, the guy who apparently was approached by a close friend to recruit FA - according to the DT I think - and the guy lunching with FA while this was going on). Roman ends up in court testifying in a civil trial.

Annoying but not a disaster right? Wrong? The Spurs team needs to prove its case so they need to show a pattern of behaviour here - and for that they start talking about ROMAN's past business practice NOT Chelsea - the Roman conversation gets you into all sorts of interesting stuff from Russia - what do y'all think?????
