Many thanks, Neil!

Neil Avey has decided to get back in touch with real life and beer and has therefore stepped down as ETFC webmaster. I will be taking over with immediate effect (with Neil as my assistant, so we've swapped roles in a way). All I can say is, "Thanks for everything Neil." Oh yes. And, "What on earth have I done taking this lot over?"

Hopefully you won't notice too many changes because I've just rewritten the entire site and have no intention of doing that again! There will still be teething troubles from the rewrite. At the moment this is most likely to be that opposition team's details will not be available until they are written and uploaded. If you get any other problems, PM me.

I thought real life WAS beer!

But Neil drinks Bud! If I want rice I'll have a stir-fry!

Well done Neil and Cyclops.

Cheers! What everyone should remember, though, is that the web site is a joint effort by various people within the club. OK, Neil and I made sure everything fitted in OK, put some stuff into web site format and uploaded the results, but we could never have written all the content on our own.

thats so random...

whats all that about???!

Erm... Bud is beer made from, amongst other things, rice. Originally there was a good reason for this, because the barley the Yanks used to grow produced cloudy beer but now it's just cheaper than using all barley. It also produces thinner-bodied beer. I prefer beer brewed from barley with, possibly, a small ratio of wheat or maize, but not rice.

Cyclops.Did you hear about the recent pub survey of real ale's in Britain.Apparently over 40% are served far to hot.The recommended temperature is 50-55 F.A lot of pubs were serving up pints in the mid 70's.With one recording a temperature in the mid 90's, as hot as a cup of tea.

Should be cellar temperature which is, as you say, around 12C/50-55F. If your pub has the Cask Marque you know that sort of thing has been checked. The pubs I usually drink in don't have a problem.
