What a [****!!****] statement..Look at what Henman has done over the past ten years..No we may not be the best, because of the situ re minor(?) sports, but he has reached the semis in six majors..Okay has not won any...but considering English men have not won Wimbledon since 1936..so come on...give the guy a break.

As for the boy Murray...well he has got loads of spunk...what is needed, but u cannot take away what Tim has done over the past ten years...

it's the 2 weeks out of 52 nutcases getting bedecked in union jacks and talking absolute excrement on the telly about 'this is tiger tims year' etc that gets my goat

 

not to mention the tedious 'henmania takes hold of the nation' crap the bored sports writers go mental about for said fortnight.

 

he's earning a fair living from tennis, and fair play to him. temper the coverage of tennis to spread the fortnight saturation all year round, or forget it altogether is my only wish...

 

although, i suppose sports writers have to earn a living during the close season...

 

i relish the top-heavy ashes coverage.

i think henman gets far too much stick. i heard some people willing him to lose...i cant see why you would want that.

 

as for being a failure the bloke reached 4 in the world in an individual sport, thats not a complete failure in a team sport. obviously you want to be number 1 in the world but he went bloody close.
