............well just read in this week's East london Enquirer.

 

That the Essex Intermediate League is reverting to its old name (from inception in 1966 to change at beginning of 1997/8 season) of the Essex Olympian Football League.

 

This is because the FA do not acknowledge intermediate status as being part of their national league system.

 

The new(old)league will be called The Baliston Essex Olympian Fotball League.

 

Did any older browsers out there ever play in a team in the old league?

 

I remember its results always being featured in the Recorder (and Romford Times?) and national sunday newspapers.

What team Donald. I never did play in the Olympian.

Cos after my time in the Romford League I moved to Sarf London and played for Streatham in the Surrey Intermediate (I think it was), Carshalton in the SAL and then ended up with Staines Lammas who now play in Combined Counties Div 1.

Oh happy days indeed and how I miss them.

I would give anything to be able to turn the clock back and start all over again.
