The 7/1 quoted was from the folkesone forum and in my post it does say that those odds were not coonfirmed as being correct but the above two posts are CONFIRMED odds direct from bet365. Best to therefore ignore the betting with us at 7/1 as they were clearly wrong at the time of posting.

Having said that that original post gave Fisher as 11/2 and above 1st post quoted them as 14/1 so maybe the odds have fluctuated that much.

When it is known what kind of team we will have I am sure our odds will come tumbling down, provided of course that we acquire some decent signings.

Our odds could also drift out further of course depending on those signings but overall I realLy do believe that our odds will be cut once we actually name a team, ANY team.

Lets face it, without ANY knowledge of a team at the moment by the bookies or the public our odds should in reality be 50/1 or more. So the bookies are treading carefully so it seems.

Please do not just dismiss me as another stupid anon.I have a perfectly reasonable question to ask, to maybe Cookie ,who is well up on the odds etc.My question is what odds could you get on Margate being relegated at the end of the season, and Ramsgate being promoted so effectively changing places.Unlikely maybe, but possible. What do you think. No abuse please!!!!

Its possible for Margate to get relegated and Ramsgate to get promoted. Theres every chance of that. But then theres every chance that Margate get promoted and Ramsgate get relegated.

My reckoning (from my admittedly low knowledge of both sides) is that Ramsgate wil be around the mid table. Of course Id like to see Ramsgate do well as well as Margate, but for Margate, mid-table should be the minimum they should aim for. I genuinely believe that Margate could get promoted this season. And I look forward to being at as many matches as I can get to.

Im not just saying this as a Margate fan. Margate have been relegated twice for non football reasons.

We did fall from the Conference south because of ON-Field activities James, even with taking into account the embargo. The ten points could have been acquired yet we could still have stayed up. The embargo certainly didnt help but there were worse teams than us anyway, and losing crucial points in crucial games was our downfall despite the reasons others may give that the effects from the embargo and OFF-field goings on had a sway in the outcome.

This year we are back home,we will be stronger, will have some of last years playing members with good experience behind them and with some other shrewd signings to be made hopefully I really do believe we are to have a good season. No consolidaton this year. We will have NO excuses to fall back on this time round. If we are not in the first 6, I for one will be disappointed. No consolidation for me this year as was hoped for last term.

Thats exactly what Im talking about cookie. Consolidation shouldnt be the aim. Promotion should be the objective. Margate used to be in the Conference of course. I never said consolidation is the thing to aim for. Promotion straight away should be the thing to aim for. Theres nothing really stopping Margate from being this seasons Grays.
