The breakaway, fan-led Manchester United have been allocated a spot in the 2nd division of the North West Counties League for next season.

 

There's to be an open trial for players at Droylsden FC's ground on 26th June. Any message boarders here going up to try their luck and get to play for Manchester United?

Presumably that's where he is today. He told me back in April that he was going to be starting his TV presenting job in six-eight weeks. I can only assume he's joining Sue Barker and John Lloyd, as a pundit on the BBC.

Sniffer likes a little trip to Manchester now and again. Nothing like sleeping in a field of tramps from 2am - 10am he tells me.

 

He'll be happy to renew some old acquaintancies and sleeping off a Saturday night Clint Boon DJ experience in a field till 10am sounds like the right sort of warm up for United FC's 'real Manchester United' players.

 

I'd come myself but my weekend is already taking me to Holland Park, Bournemouth, Aldershot and Wellwyn Garden City. Droylsden is just one ridiculous journey too far.

I read on teletext just now United FC have hired a manager, the guy got the job due to his 'knowledge of the semi-professional leagues in the north east'.

 

So why claim to be having open trials this Sunday? This manager guys got a team lined already from the pit faces and the dark, satanic call centres of the north.
