League keeps 4k winnings to pay legal costs.

Recommended Posts

Billericay will receive nothing finacially for finishing runners-ip in the Ryman League last season.

For cash under the sponsorship fro Ryman was swallowed up by the leagues legal fight with the FA over the restrucuring of Step One to Three of the Pyramid.

When the new plan came into effect at the start of last season, reducing the league from 86 to 60 clubs, Ryman cut their sponsorship for the year to £50k from more than £100k.

They have sinced signed a new deal for the next three terms, but there will be no prize money from last season. This had previously gone to the top five in each division plus the league cup finalists.

Canvey won 5k for winning the Ryman the previous campaign and, under the old system, Billericay would have got 4k.

Town secretary Ian Ansell Said:" We were disappointed but we understand the league management commite had to make a difficult decisions."

"All Ryman clubs made a £750 contribution to the legal costs involved in fighting the Fa over reorganisation, but there were expenses incurred over and above the legal fees."

No club has complained to us about not getting a payment. The league hope to restart payments to clubs again.

I understand your point sub, but consider this, why should just a few clubs have to make such a large contribution.

Surely it would be fairer if the short fall was split amongst all the clubs concerned.

We don't mind paying our own part, but why should we pay for Bromley, Heybridge, Worthing ETC?

I take it Boweres won't be making a donation then?
