so you just agree with everything thing that manager and directors do and dont have any opinions. indeed you are the perfect fan

The supporters who boycotted Ashford are the really loyal supporters in my opinion. If it hadnt been for them, the club would probably still be playing there.

I guess some people support the team,

some the team in a certain division ( and i admit for precisely 4 days i had some doubts about the effort reqd to go and see Ryman League games )

and some people the team in the town-after all it is Margate -and can't blame them for that-.

Overall i now hope there were many who decided either not to go, or could not go to Ashford/Dover as if the above poster is correct, they should therefore come flooding back to HDP to get gates in excess of 1000 even in the Ryman

Well lets hope so. But the club didnt just lose money at Dover and Ashford. Some people will be easier to win back than others. And the club can't afford to forget about them.
A public apology might be a good thing.

I really think that some of the posters are completely out of touch with the circumstances of the club over the last 12 months.

What the club needs is real and practical support not critical historians.

Why not show your loyalty as a supporter and buy a season ticket?

I think James Maskell could be a good addition to the board. The club needs to show that it is not afraid of people who ask questions.

The attitude of some people that we should leave all that financial stuff to the board (Who unbelievably run up an £800,000 debt) is shortsighted and counter productive.

If you had been at the meeting then you would have seen the club answer all questions in full, whatever was asked, without fear or evasion. See what you miss when you operate on conjecture alone? The fact is Mr Maskell was totally incorrect as to his definition of the amount owed, as are you.

Plus I really feel Mr Maskell would be better served at present in finishing his education, and getting some life experience, although with a sharp mind like his I am sure he will do well in the future.

Rayw, I understand from your earlier postings that you are a Managing Director of a business and also that you are interested in taking over the club with a consortium.

There are now a wide range of advertising, corporate hospitality and sponsorship opportunities with Margate fc. To demonstrate your future commitment to Margate fc and its supporters and with particular regard to its financial stability will you now be taking up these opportunities?

Zhukov being the MD of a company does not mean that i would be using any of the companies money for my own personal interest!

You make it read as though i already had a consortium in place, ready to take over! But i never said that.

But as a long time fan i would have been interested in working with others for MFC if the opportunity arose. But clearly that is not the case the clubs owners want to carry on and from what ive read most of the regular fans of recent years back them in that.

I personally hope the club is successful as possible. Thanet really does need something to give it a boost. If that happens under KP and the club manage to trun the corner with him fine. But if its under other people thats also fine.

I really think the thing is realise the potential.

My criticisms and other peoples are not based on some irrational hatred of Mr Piper but on a dissapointment in the way the club has gone so far downhill,so quickly.

But having said that it was an achievement to get into the conference in the first place. CK was a really good choice of manager and the club were begining to win over local football fans who had never taken them that seriously.

re Margate fan. The figure of £877,000 relates to what is on the clubs financial statement for companies house in 2004.Are you suggesting that the figure is wrong? and that the club have given the wrong info to companies house?

Finally got a connection from my home computer <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I wouldnt be a popular addition to the Board, nor would I want to join it. There is no certainty that there would be a Board to join in time for the next season. I also fear that I would be both marginalised (for obvious reasons) and I would be most likely out of my depth. I know my strengths and weaknesses and being a Board member in a financially troubled company is something I have no experience in. My education will be finished on thursday at the end of my last exam, which is a largely academic exercise.

The highlighted figure as stated currectly by rayw is 877,386. Its the loss figure from the profit and loss account. However after looking at the figures again (and to be honest these figures arent exactly the most clear ones), the actual figure of debt is 549,042 pounds. This takes into account the money raised through the share capital.

The new figures as part of the answer my KP doesnt make me much happier. He didnt have to get into detail. What was so funny was that he only had to say that he was confident that the CVA would be concluded successfully and I would be happy. I would have no need to ask for more information. Genuinely.
