Essex Derby's

Not sure what the stats are, but our results against fellow Essex sides is pretty dire. Both C***** and Braintree did the double over us last season with Heybridge and Purfleet definate bogey sides. Grays seem to be the only side we enjoy a bit of success against. Thier are 12 such games this season (14 if you include Stortford) which is a fair chunk out of 44 games. Last seasons record PL10 W3 L5 D2 Po 11. Me thinks we need to raise it for these games.

In Ryman premier matches since 98, our record reads:

Purfleet: P8 W2 D5 L1

Heybridge: P8 W4 D1 L3

C*nv*y: P6 W1 D1 L4

Grays: P4 W3 D1 L0

Braintree: P3 W0 D0 L3

Overall: P29 W10 D8 L11

In addition, Purfleet knocked us out of the "puma cup" in 98/99, the ESC in 99/00 and Heybridge knocked us out of the FMC (last ever match in that competition) and the ESC in 00/01.

Bishops Stortford: P2 W1 D1 L0 if you're interested, also the FA cup win there 2 years ago.

Ford united is a new one as far as I'm aware, don't think we've met in a league match before this season.

Including tuesday and last season, our recent record against Essex clubs is P11, W3 D2 L6

Braintree are rapidly becoming a bogey team, would suggest our record against Heybridge and Purfleet is pretty even and we've done well against Grays, badly against C*nv*y.

It's all getting a bit Statto this but.....

Last season results between the 6 Essex sides give a table something like this:

C*nv*y P10 W7 D1 L2

Purfleet P10 W4 D4 L2

Braintree P10 W4 D2 L4

BTFC P10 W3 D2 L5

Grays P10 W3 D2 L5

Heybridge P10 W2 D3 L5

Interestingly, only C*nv*y achieved a %win rate approaching that of their overall league campaign - they won 30/42 = 71% (7/10=70%)

Overall last season, we lost 30% of our games (13/42) as opposed to 50% against Essex sides. Of course it is true to say that All of the Essex sides finished in the top 13 in the table and so these games are tougher than most anyway.
