I never saw ay of WC 1990 as I didn't like football then, I was a late starter!

im normally to pissed to remember or care about the quality of the football.. each tournament will be rated as how much fun i had watching it.. in that respect euro 96 is my top tourny followed by

WC 98.. WC 90 was the best recent achievment by an england team but i watched a lot of it at home as my missus had just dropped with my first born so it scores lowly with me.. the last WC was a good laugh on the booze front and beating the argies was a particular high point..

Nowhere did I say I was pleased with that result.

 

It's still a better result than 1-1 at home against Switzerland, though!!

I read that to mean you were pretty pleased with our three draws in the tournament.

By that, I meant that the draws in the 1990 World Cup were far more respectable than the draws in Euro 96.

 

As a team, Ireland 90 were better than Switzerland 96.

Holland 90 were better than Spain 96 (and it was a far better performance by us)

Germany 90 were better than Germany 96 by a long way.

Have to agree with Mourinho, personally. This is why we're a nation of under-achievers. Far to quick to applaud our sporting losers.
