A serious question Col, pre-liberation so pre 1999 where the only bands you used to go and see Christian Rock Bands ?

 

When did you first go to a proper gig and who was it you saw ?

First Gig was Billy Graham at Spring Harvest.

I was trying to start of a serious discussion. I know that it is a big part of being a young Christian. Something I never was so I'm taking an interest in your teen years.

Yes I went to church in my teenage years but was never a young christian, it was full of fit girls like Claire and all her STAGS mates so there wasn't much chance of actually leading that life due to my high sex drive <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

My first gig was Airhead in ULU in 1992.

One last question about it, did you used to sing shine jesus shine and join in with the congregation clapping and swaying ?

I have sung that song yes, I've seen grown men cry and fall to their knees while singing that. It was quite embarrassing to watch!

Next up, Godhopping by Dogs Die in Hot Cars, I think you might like this as everything else is a rip off of something, this is quite original (cue some named band that they've obviously ripped off)

And having heard them, I understand why - it's because they're doing exactly the same thing as the Kaiser Chiefs and the Killers, ie. re-churning the late 70s/early 80s Mod scene.

I quite like it though.
