Margate manager Chris Kinnear cannot wait for the new season to start.

Kinnear had to operate under a transfer embargo for most of last season after Gate went into administration, but he received news on Monday that the embargo has been lifted.

He said: "It's the best bit of news we've had in three years. I haven't been as upbeat for a couple of years and I am really looking forward to it."

True there may be no more excuses for any problems but then we would be ignoring the CVA. A Creditors meeting will be called soon. If the vote goes the wrong way all this will be for nothing sadly.

It could go either way. Of course we can guess what will happen but we dont know how much is owed to who. Its likely to be close.

"Its likely to be close." Have you spoken to the creditors, or is that just speculation? It was only yesterday that you were instructing us to all be positive.

If youve seen their last accounts, you would have seen the proportions held by the different catagories of creditors. Social Security's proportion has gone up 10 fold. Trade creditors are enough to make the rest of the quarter. If Social Security (ie the taxman) and trade creditors get together, the CVA will fall. And that ignores the banks and other people who have loaned money to the club, forming a very sizable proportion. Hopefully these nun bers have fallen in the last 12 months but from what I can see, its close. A simple majority wont win it. 3/4 is required.

I said be positive but bear in mind MFC isnt out of the woods yet. Once the CVA is dealt with, then we can say MFC is safe for the future. I believe I also said that things were improving and that therefore that was a reason for the creditors not to vote against the CVA.

Now stop it children.

Why spoil a very positive post about our Manager's hopes for the new season by all this negative twaddle.

Speculate on what you know, not on what you imagine or fear.

Now read MFC's announcement CAREFULLY.

And if you want to go on and on about negative things, start your own post. Or, if you find it easier, add it to the other post, you know, the one where the anonymous ones grind their axes.

There was a thread yesterday originating from MFC themselves; pointing out that MFC accounts are in the public domain, and therefore James is not posting anything not known.

I think JM is just being realistic and pointing out correctly that there is quite a big issue yet to overcome officially;but as we can all see, with everything else going in the right direction, there is justified cause for optimism and the creditors upon advice from the administrator wil take this into account.

MFC will surely have been working with the administrats and therefore have an inside steer on the apparent way things are going and therefore the optimism i should think.

Maybe a question for tonight re: status of CVA .Unfortunately , i will not be there to ask it myself due to distance, but maybe someone will.

All in all, i reckon there are reasons` to remain cheeerful

I hope you enjoyed your face to face coming together with KP at the meeting last night.I would say it was 1-0 to KP. If it had been one of the previous low morale meetings it would have been the high light of the night. Accounts are like an autobiography, though written down and to the author factual, they can never portray the true underlying emotion, and intentions of the subject, and are open to interpretation to all that read the book except those with closed minds. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" />
