can not get to mid-week games what is happening?

the report appears to say we are as bad at the back as we are good at the front

is at the back or lack of mid-field cover in the 3 at the back system

Can't fault anyone for effort in the 2nd half, we were excellent going forward and how we only got 4 I don't know.

We do look suspect at the back - conceding goals from free kicks/corners and silly mistakes being made. The defenders we have are all very good players, but I still think we miss Micky Bodley and need a good solid centre half who can win balls in the air and organise the defence. Excellent entertainment last night, but 2 points lost, rather than 1 point won.

just an addded thought but our 13 goals against would place us in the relegation zone if that were the only consideration

 

on points of course we are only 3 games away from the basilricay league position and we assume we are to beat them twice we could make rapid progress??

 

any opinions on reverting to 4 at the back

Whatever we do, we must concentrate on our defensive game and to keep the goals conceeded down to a minimum. We have the quality going forward but this is where we will lose it at the back. If you look at final league positions, it’s usually the teams who conceed less finish on top. I’d like to see more caution even in league games, as if we are playing a higher level team in a cup game. To start with, the wing-backs should be more defence minded. Once we are two or three up then we can open up more. Something has got to change from present though. If we can get this right, it’s still early days and league positions can change quickly.
