Bit of Local knowledge/help please!

Hi - I'm sticking a rough guide/match preview together for the www.aldershottown-mad.co.uk site (which I edit) and am after a bit of help from one (or more) of your supporters in the following areas…

 

1. Could you let me know how much it'll be to get into the friendly against the Shots - or your league prices if you don't know friendly prices yet?

 

2. What allocation of the ground is given to visiting supporters - or the capacity of the ground/stand we'll be in if you don't know?

 

3. The nearest train station and how long it would take to walk to the ground. (Looking on the map it's St Albans and looks about a 5 minute walk.)

 

4. Any pubs which are recommended for visiting supporters?

1. Probably £9 for adults, £5 seniors & juniors (14-16 years) £3 under 14's

3. St Albans City, 3 mins walk from the ground

 

4. Mermaid is good, so is the Crown Hotel. Both near the ground.

Not heard the Crown called a Hotel for some time!

Hotel is probably a bit of an exaggeration - doss-house to be more accurate.

 

Serves a couple of decent real ales and the lager is well, like lager anywhere really. Huge screen to watch the footy on too and various other amusements for those who find conversation difficult. Should be ideal for Shots fans. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/alk.gif" alt="" />
