It really depends on the bonding between the levelled subsurface and the turf. If all you can do is use cans, then concentrate on the edges where the turves buttress against each other. The most danger comes from shrinkage and curling a the edges witch will leave rutting.

with any cricket and football grounds the new turf is "laced" together with a bio degradable mesh to stop this happening.

Fingers crossed for some rain, but not the flash floods they had in Yorkshire last nite.

Cookie, don't forget we have a superb groundsman in Ray, and if he is not lavishing love and attention on that turf, I would emulate your trip through Margate post Norway winning Euro 2005. On the other hand, that would probably frighten too many children and those of a nervous disposition.

RE- WATER FOR THE TURF. IF THEIR IS A RESTRICTION

ON WATER USAGE,CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY SPRINKLERS WHERE BEING USED THIS MORNING TO WATER THE FLOWERS AT STATION GREEN?
