Nice to see Mr Harding is still pulling his stunts by saying he has no input into our matchday magazine, but still ensures we don't get a league table. I bet that as soon as we aren't top, it miraculously appears!!!1335.gif

Hi R.T.

Totally unfair, R.T.

There was a thread on here last week concerning the matchday programme which clearly went unnoticed by the small, but perfectly formed Committee who, according to the matchday programme, are responsible for the co-ordination of the matchday programme. I have yet to receive the usual abuse from my good friend Lee wood, but it will come, no doubt.

What you don't understand R.T. is that this is a very complex and sophisticated matter. The League table. Someone has to gather the result of every single game that takes place in the League, allocate points, calculate goal differences, for EVERY SINGLE GAME that takes place. Every game R.T. Not just City's. So. Are you going to volunteer, R.T.?

I suppose you're thinking "Hang on. Why not cut and glue the League table from the newspapers. That's straightforward". Wrong. Copyright, R.T. Copyright. I told you it's complex.

I suppose you're now thinking " But the avid readers of the Programme of the Season 2001/02 would like to see the League table in the matchday programme." Well you might be right R.T. I wouldn't like to hazard a guess. Far greater minds than mine have considered the question, no doubt.

One things for sure, R.T. If you want to see the League table in the matchday programme, I suggest that you volunteer to produce one. It's not as simple as you would think, I have no doubt.

Just think for a moment. If it was simple, every other club would be doing it in their matchday programmes. Err. Hang on a minute.....

I missed the programme thread last week. However, as well as no league table, where are the stats on player appearances, goals, etc. The middle pages are even innaccurate - for instance, who got our goal at Maidenhead. According to the line up listed, he wasn't even playing that day! Now really poor value at £2.

It was an interesting thread, M.S., not least as it was a useful summary of all that has been said on here previously.

[The Sherlock Holmes quote concerning the significance of the dog barking in the night may spring to the minds of some.]

Perhaps that Rob chap might be prevailed upon to re-post it below here if it hasn't been shredded upon the orders of Goebbels.

Nice to see the programme fun has started again.

Not sure but would seem that there is indeed trouble at Chez Harding, just look at the [****!!****] up with the tickets/season tickets.

I do think that the stats used to be provided by the league however.

A suggestion - someone email the committee (this is beginning to sound like Stalinist Russia - wait for the five year plans) the table from the web site (waive copyright etc.) and if it isn't published then storm the offices of Queensway.

I expect Mr Wood will reply in good time (if he has returned from Watford) but as his name is published as working on the programme (which is unusual) he take some of the criticism (which at times is ill informed) very personally.

Strange how every previous season we have had no "copyright" problems, and Queensway produce several programmes for other clubs in our division all of which have a league table. Surely it's possible to cut and paste the league table from the leagues site if necessary or the one on this very site and a simple acknowledgement. Someone also commented last night about "the added cost" hmmm, how long would it take a graphic designer to cut and paste? 3-7 seconds, surely this added cost would be absorbed easily enough. <img src="/forums/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

Thanks AFF & Rob

Found the thread which I missed last week. Surely the picture thingy is a bit of a red herring. Doesn't anyone at the club have a decent (or even half decent) digital camera which they could use to generate some images to use in the programme. Or doesn't the technology used to produce the programme accept such images.

If no-one has one, I could offer the services of my Olympus when next at the Park (although due to family commitments, etc), I don't get down there very often on Saturdays (as my moniker suggests).
