This is bloody typical of Slough Fans. Straight to each others throat at the slightest thing. Every club has players going at the end of the season. Either sold or out of contract. Obviously at Slough it is not allowed!! Chris Sliski told me I was the first to know when he told me on saturday, and I thought I would share this information with other Slough fans. It was not told as a secret, otherwise why would I be told. If the player is out of contract it is not down to the club to say which club he has gone. This type of news should come from the local press (ha ha).
So from sharing a bit of (ok. not good) news with other Slough supporters, most of them seeeming to know it all, an argument starts and you all piss Chris off (again). Makes me wonder why he stands up and supports half of you half of the time. Let me get this straight.. Chris tells supporters (well me. knowing I would pass the info on) that an out of contract player has signed for someone else......... How is that keeping a secret!
I do not generally come on here as it pisses me off the crap I read, this just shows me again why I stopped coming on this. Sliski is not Maclolm Glazer, whatever he does or is doing is for the good of our club, not the good of himself, or me, or you. I'm Tony by the way, some know me as plinth.
Next time I get some info I will be keeping it to my bloody self! I apologise for any typing errors on this as i dont have time to sit on my fart [****!!****] typing crap like this all day, or monitoring this forum all day to talk [****!!****].................Although some would say I just have!

Well your not wrong there!!

As i was the one to start this thread, by asking about a rumour i had heard. Its seems that i am now the villian and would like to make a few points:

1. If Chris doesn't want anyone to know, he shouldn't have told anyone in the first place. I believe that if he tells one he should tell all.

2. By reading some of these threads it semms that the person who told me is not the only person who knew about it. As Liam says, 'at least 6 people knew', Gaz comes out with 'put myself forward to be a member of the commitee' this wouldnt really work as I would be completly open and this may not sit well with the club.

3. Why is it that whenever Chris is critised we gat 'the nuclear option' of his resignation??????

4.All the members of the trust commitee volunteered no1 asked them, but as soon as there is a small amount of critism its 'get someone else to do it'.

Roger - where does Chris say he's trying to keep anything secret? It's not his responsibility, or anyone else's who's heard anything, to post it on here, that should come from the club. If he chooses to tell somebody he's speaking to but not others I really don't see a problem!

Your comment that Trust Board members are "not completely open" is also unfair, in my opinion. If somebody is told something in confidence and asked not to repeat it, do you think they should betray that trust, even if it might be something that others supporters would find useful? I've been party to lots of information in the past but would never share it with anyone if I'd been asked to keep it confidential.

Chris didn't offer to resign, he offered people who are not happy with what he's doing the opportunity to vote him off the Trust Board which is precisely the right way to go about things. I doubt however that anyone is willing to commit a fraction of the personal time he does (and other Board members) for the benefit of us and our club.

People need to stop using a message forum as an easy means of being critical. If people want to know something, they can phone Roy or they can phone Chris. Both would be receptive to calls and to offers of help as I've spoken to them both. I suspect most of the people moaning however, haven't bothered to do that as it's easier to just post something on here. And, just in case me stating that in a message seems slightly contradictory, contact me via ian@sloughtownfc.net and I'll be happy to drive round and talk to people personally.

Roger

It was the way you posted it! 'whats this about a player going to staines'. I am the person who told ***** that Murphy had gone. ***** told you this. It was not a rumour but a fact! Your statement made it sound like it was one big conspiracy or secret. Instead of coming on and making that twatish statement, you should have just said what you were told. If it was such a secret why..................... buggering hell...............talking to a brick wall!

In response to your points

1)It was not a secret!! He did want us to know

!! He was telling people. As I was.

2)'At least 6 other peolpe knew'. Thats because it was not a secret!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So chris did not come instantly on ther forum to tell eveyone, therefore he was the villain. Therefore, aren't the other people who said they knew also villains for not sharing this news?!?! 'this wouldnt really work as I would be completly open and this may not sit well with the club.' Thats right, Gary and Chris are keeping dark secrets about what is going on. Has it occured to you that maybe they do not know? or, as with most football clubs trying top get more money from a chairman or new investment,it is kept quiet. Some details may be held back from us for a good reason. Name one business or business man who wants to wants the world to know all of his dealings? The trust don't own the club, deaner does, so they, just like us, are reallky at his mercy, we should urging them on, not slagging!

3)As for chris offering resignation everytime he is criticised, well, it always seems to me that he is saying if you can do better, you do his job! Lets be fair here. Chris rang me and Told me this FACT about Murphy. I shared this knowledge with others! HOW IS THIS KEEPING A SECRET!!!

He gave us some information, you reacted.

If you react like this when you do get some info, why tell you anything at all, you'll only go into one.

4)Loosing concentration.......head hurts from bashing it against brick wall

Roger, If this seems like a personal attack it is not meant to be one. It just pisses me off, that if you had of just come on and said 'I've heard Michael Murphy has gone to staines, any truth in this' half of these threads in this post would not have happened. Your initial statement ('whats this about a player going to staines')made it sound like a huge conspiracy was going on, when all we were told, was that an out of contract player had signed for another club.

Enough of my bitching. Any more friendlies been sorted yet? Or is it just the Burnham one?

The trust is seperate from the club and the individuals who are members of the trust and the board are also private individuals.

It is not the job of the trust to act as the voice of the Club.

Chris was told something as a private individual by a player who he considers a friend. Chris passed this information on to various people (including me). I choose not to post it on the forum for various reasons. Mainly though if you look at the story regarding the three that the club has confirmed as released it is done in a diplomatic and dispassionate manner which is not something you can say about this thread. Also I had heard one side of the story secondhand.

This whole issue has [****!!****] all to do with the trust.

Anyone could be on the trust board and if you joined you would see we have bugger all extra information. This will soon be confirmed to all our members as I will be preparing a quarterly (approx) newsletter about what is discussed at our meetings.

Any chance we can close this bloody thread now?

I know people have said this before BUT i think all this bitching and 'rumour (Which is prob fact) mongering is due to a certain lack of communication from the club- HOWEVER, i dont think this is the Club's fault- I HONESTLY BELIEVE that when the club knows something we will be informed (Probably by Slippery Pole ) Until then it is my opinion that the club generally do not know anymore than we do. If the posts from the 'players' is genuine (Which it could well be in my opinion- esp the Matt Murphy one on the other thread) It shows that they know nothing more than we do- and as IM SURE Roy and Co would keep them informed in an attempt to keep as many of them as possible- i can only come to the assumption that there is no news - which surely is NOT good news! Another Summer of worrying awaits boys!

When my kids get on my nerves with their constant bickering, I usually sneak into the study, log on to the internet and spend five minutes on the forum, get a bit of peace and quiet and catch up on the news. I'm going back to my kids because they don't bicker and whinge half as much as you lot. Talk about flogging a dead horse. I think this one has well and truly run its course, just let go. Roll on the start of the season and maybe we will have something to talk about that isn't speculation and bitching.
