I really feel sorry for Northwich they pulled off a miracle in staying up last season and it looks like it won't count.

I understand there has to be things in place for clubs in financial trouble but they should have some sort of leeway.

They were deducted 10 points already isnt that enough?

I don`t know all the details to this story but the article says...

 

"Every possible assistance was given by ourselves and the FA to Northwich to comply by the 31st May deadline, including significant correspondence with the lawyers of the administrators and lawyers for Northwich (2004) Ltd. The Conference left all concerned in absolutely no doubt whatsoever what was required to be in place by 31st May 2005. Whilst the ground work was acceptable, the transfer of membership had not been completed and no lease was in place in accordance with the Rules of the Football Association and The Football Conference to the existing member of The Football Conference, Northwich Victoria Football Club Ltd (in administration). The only lease in existence was granted to Northwich Victoria (2004) Ltd whose membership had not, by the relevant date, been approved by the Football Association."

 

It sounds like they had chances to get their act together but failed to do so, i wouldn`t want it to happen to any club but what`s the point of having these rules if you keep on bending them. It looks like the Northwich fans have been let down by the people running the club.

it would be very harsh if they did go down. but northwich should have known the rules, so they should have sorted it out.rules are rules a the end of the day.

They've had years as far as i'm aware. Theres only so much leeway you can give a club. Bad for the fans, but then again we won't have to go thru another fixture change due to the 1st prelim round of the Cheshire herald under 11's cup, taking precedence over conference games. "Sorry Guv our hands are tied it'll have to be Friday night again, enjoy your journey!"

It's Official, those buggers at FGR that we competed against desperately to see who went down have been reprieved and Northwich Victoria will now take their place in Nationwide North.

Very sad for Northwich but at least Forest Green is a nearer trip.

What a farce, all that fighting against relegation was for nothing, that deseparate win against Scarborough was for nothing.

Why didnt they promote Eastbourne? Forest Green finished in the bottom three and deserved to go down.

a few years ago slough town got thrown out of the conference for not being able to add 50 seats to wexham park....this is the same sort of thing

Because somewhere in the rules it states that three teams will be relegated - it doesn't say that this will ALWAYS be the bottom three.

On the other side of the coin, Northwich deserved to go down the year before - but were saved by Margate, Telford & some other tinpot team from the Unibond.

yes but the work they put in when they got 10pts taken off was great its a shame they had to go like this but then again FGR are closer and they make a nice place to go at the end of the season so we can have our party!!!!!!

plus the money they didnt spend getting their ground up to scratch on preumably better players.. fgr played by the rules , the vics didnt..
