Have just heard that Danny has signed a 1 year fulltime contract. The ex-Chelsea reserve captain, Welsh Under-21 international and Chelmsford player joins from Welling United. He spent four years at Stamford Bridge.

Oooh, they'll be uncontrollable now, those Welling fans. Up in arms about their players going to us when we're no better than them, we're just chavs down the A2, etc etc.

Hi fellow fleet fans just phoned the fleet office to ask about Danny Slatter and they confirmed it, they have just sent out a press release about it.

I don't know much about him, except for the fact that Welling fans love him. Is he a goalscoring midfielder? Any good?

I don't think you can call him a goalscoring midfielder. If the stats on "Winning isn't Everything" are correct, then he scored 5 goals in 42 appearances and was sent off once.

Dannys has been a great player for us this season. He doesn't score loads, about 5 or 6 this season but they tend to be a bit special when he scores them. Very hard working and good passer of the ball, won our player of the season this year. Very good signing for you and he will be missed here, think he left Chelsea because he wasn't quite good enough

Sounds like great news to me. Daish is getting the new signings in at a fairly good pace.
