Hullbridge Sports don't like winners

I've come to the conclusion the only title Hullbridge want is 'worst team in UK'. Following the reserves' recent cup win over Stansted - the first team manager decided he couldn't work with the reserve team managers and sacked them!(Sour grapes or what?) The committee are supporting his decision and sticking with a looser whose only qualification is that his assistant is the Senior Secretary's son and whose idea of a training session is to sink as much beer as possible.

Whats more their reserve team will play in the Mid Essex League this season. With no 18 Alliance Squad - they've gone to Bowers, and the loss of three FA qualified coaches will they end up with zero points this season.

No wonder you are Ashamed! Didn't they pick up a few years back and have a good you side who hosted Blackburn in the FA Youth Cup in front of 800+ at Lower Road? Makes you wonder what happens to these kids. Do they discover women and booze overnight?

Seem to remember the ESL hero Howard Mackler doing a good job there as well some time ago.

One of those players is the Southend Manor skipper who got abused by the Waltham Abbey mob on the forum for diving and screaming when taken out. I also know he reads these threads so hello Jay Jay you legend!

Yeah but what happened to the rest of the squad? I find it quite odd that the career of a group of 15/16 year olds - which is good enough to reach so far in the FA Youth Cup - suddenly come to a grinding halt.

They got the boot from HS cause they were more successful than the first team! Some went to Manor some to Basildon. Official Club line was that there was problem with the signing on fees - didn't their success bring in more revenue than they'd seen in years? I've been associated with Hullbridge for 20 years and I've seen it time and time again - if you don't lick a*** you're out. All they've got now is a pub team made up of committee members' family and their friends. If they were in any other league they'd have been relegated years ago.

Could well be their fate then as a result of their performance after the 2006/7 reorganisation!

If the ESL/Kent 2006/7 version at level five has a lower division they will certainly drop for 2007/8 unless they change drastically.

We began this season with a first team and reserves - 40+ at preseason training,a Sunday first team, 16 and 18 Alliance squads and 18's in the Chelmsford League. Sunday firsts disbanded mid-season, manager got no support from committee, 16's went to Concorde 18's went to Bowers, reserves off somewhere else. We're left with a useless first team, 18's Chelmsford taking over as Sunday firsts / reserves in the Mid Essex. How would you feel?
