Has been confirmed by self confessed messiah Bob Geldolf:

I'm trying to find the confirmed bands list but they have just been read on on radio.

It starts with an estate agents dream:

Coldplay

Dido

Keane

David Gray

People like Robbie, U2, REM etc are also playing.

I'd be tempted just to be a little part of history

LONDON (Reuters) - Madonna, U2 and Coldplay will be among the star acts at the Live 8 concert in London to raise awareness about global poverty, organiser Bob Geldof said on Tuesday.

Elton John, Robbie Williams, Scissor Sisters and Joss Stone were also named in the line up for the July 2nd concert.

Geldof announced plans for Live 8, a global concert, to repeat the success of the 1985 Live Aid event which raised millions of pounds for African famine relief.

Live 8 will be held in Hyde Park to coincide with a summit in Scotland of the Group of Eight leading industrial nations as a way of pressuring world leaders to act on global poverty.

Four other concerts will be held in Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin and Rome on the same day.

The first Live Aid concert was held at Wembley Stadium with a line-up including U2, Queen, Paul McCartney and David Bowie.

The event was organised by former Boomtown Rats singer Geldof, who has become a leading advocate for global poverty relief and is behind the plans for a second concert.

A spokesman for the charity organisers have said they are speaking to Oasis and Irish rockers U2 about appearing at the concert.

Organisers are also in talks with the Spice Girls, who could perform together for the first time since Geri Halliwell walked out of the group in 1998.

Razorlight were also mentioned

Coldplay.

Dido.

Keane.

David Gray.

Blobby Williams.

U2.

REM.

That is one fking depressing line-up. I hate U2 and REM almost as much as the top four on that list.

For a list that makes Robbie Williams the best thing on it, that has to be bad.

Live Aid 2 should be the following...

Status Quo

Tears For Fears

Thompson Twins

Duran Duran

Spandau Ballet

David Bowie

Paul McCartney (complete with crap microphone!)

etc.

And don't go. It won't make you "part of history", just as there was nothing historic about the making of last year's Band Aid single.

This will have nothing on the original Live Aid, and I, like millions of others no doubt, will not spend all day watching it on TV.

1985 was a proper, major event.

This is just an excuse for Chris Martin to scribble all over his hands again.

Actually I thought that about 10 seconds after I posted it.

Shall we put some poison ink in Chris Martin's pen?

I agree with Canv...with the exception of Queen, the last Live Aid was a load of bollox!!! And even they cashed in!!! Just one cash in for a load of artists that were on the slide before the event!!!

Give up one day for charity...[****!!****] that!!! That must've been a real effort!!! Arists managers all going "Think of the publicity you'll get"...the biggest bit of publicity scam ever presented and the general public got suckered!!! For example...why don't Dire Straits or Mark K give all the money they made from "Brothers In Arms"? Before the day, it was on the way down the slope (as it should've been)....after the day, a multi million selling piece of [****!!****]!!!

I don't mind Coldplay but Chris Martin really is a twat. What the hell is that weird dancing all about? He looks a complete knob on the Speed of Sound video!!

The line up is OK but there's some really depressing crap there. U2 are OK but REM vastly overated and Keane just plain dull.

As for getting the Spice Girls back together, well that will be fcking embarrassing. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Anyway, will there get this organised in just over 5 weeks? Asking a bit too much I think!
