I'd love to stay around and argue with you boys all afternoon but I'm off to our victory parade. You watch the tv later and you'll see over 80,000 fans on the streets.

Now button it.

Erm WHU a big club a well supported club in terms of numbers yes, a well supported club in terms of loyalty no booing after 20 odd mins when not leading at home erm yes it all for the mentality of WHU fans and their ability to get behind the team

WHU go down yes as you are some 21 million in debt and recently Terry Brown the chairmen said even if they do go up they will be having to sell players; 20th me thinks

Won the world cup boring there were other players on the pitch and who scored the goal(s) to get England into the final Bobby Charlton

Yes, losing a third of your games in one season really is something to celebrate.

Just a thought...

...if you lose league matches against Brighton, Millwall, Cardiff, Coventry and Forest, then how the FK are you going to win important games against bottom-half sides in the Premiership such as Portsmouth, Fulham and West Brom??

Very good point fella. We were a big fish in a small pond last season. Everybody wanted to beat us. Will be a bit different next season.

We will most probably struggle. That team isn't good enough and will need extensive improvements to stay up. As for the Hammers winning the World Cup, well the whole England team did it, it wasn't about individuals it was a team effort.

I've never bigged up West Ham and never will. We are not a so called big club but have deep traditions. We will never win the league and we have no divine right to be in the top flight.

I really couldn't care less if we finish above Tottenham (doubt we will) Just be nice to stay up.

I thought Stubbsy was an Arsenal fan. Unless this is a different Stubbsy to her.

Last six seasons...

2002/03 - Spurs 3 West Ham 2
2001/02 - Spurs 1 West Ham 1
2000/01 - Spurs 1 West Ham 0
1999/00 - Spurs 0 West Ham 0

Add to that a 1-0 win in the League Cup at home in 2003/04, and I don't think the Hammers have done too well at "Three Point Lane" in recent times.

Remember a few Hammers wins though. A 4-1 back in 1994. A Portuguese playboy scoring the winner in 1996 (a couple of days later we lost to Grimsby!!) and Wrighty scoring twice in 1999 (Johnny Moncur getting sent off and saluting the Hammers support)

Admittedly you did us at Upton Park in the Cup in 2001, with Rebrov scoring a wonder goal.

Zealster, fancy doing West Ham v Spurs next season?

So, let me get this straight: "Man U, Chelscum, Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton are the only bigger teams in the prem than us"? This might come as news to the supporters of Middlesbrough, Manchester City, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Spurs (and so on and so forth).

West Ham will, of course, get their £20m from promotion, but I would have thought that would be swallowed up by the massive debt they're still servicing (£30m, I would have thought). Unless, of course, they want to end up going the same way as, say, Leeds, Forest, or Sheffield Wednesday.

I don't know if they're planning on buying anyone during the summer, but, currently, only the middle-aged Teddy Sheringham counts as a proven Premiership player. Maybe he's playing the best football of his career. If a couple of the current Premiership teams have a really wretched season, then they might just scrape 17th place. Otherwise...

i went to a few west ham games this season..

west ham southend in some poxy cup where the west ham faithful where shown up by a league 2 crowd despite winning 2 nil.. in fact in the second half southend where better than the irons..

west ham leeds where i was hoping for a decent atmosphere.. the place was dead and the football was shocking.. sheringham played in the second half i think and was totally different gravy, making the rest of the buffoons on show look even worse, if that was possible..

chelsea west ham, as always its the away games that generate the fun, with the lower tier of the mathew harding all west ham, the place was rocking and the lampard and cole abuse was superb.. i was fortunatly underneath the upper tier as the chaps about ten rows in front of me got pelted with coins and gob .. i think i saw them 2 other times at upton park but the impression the team left was obviously so poor i have forgooten the games completly.. upton park has been pretty bland atmosphere wise this season and the team is garbage.. if they want to stay up they need some new players, about 11 should cover it...

i will say this though, the most noise i have ever heard in a football ground was at the west ham ipswich game the season before this one when west ham won 2 nil to get into the play off final ...

i am looking forward to a few west ham midweekers next season and some london derbies, but i fear the likes of arsenal chelsea etc will rip them a new ar.ehole.. bolton would take west ham apart at the moment.. from stamford bridge to upton park, er mm yes

...from a Spurs message board... "well, made me laugh!!)...

good to see them back in the Premiership isn't it lads. They truly have deserved it. Let's take a moment to review a few results which got them there.

Reading 3 - 1 West Ham

West Ham 0 - 1 Brighton

West Ham 0 - 2 Sheff Utd

Cardiff City 4 - 1 West Ham

Nottingham Forest 2 - 1 West Ham

Coventry 2 - 1 West Ham

I think you'll agree deserved play off winners. With the form they've shown this season (particularly against strong opposition) and with a GRRRRRREAT manager like Pardew they have every chance of staying up next season.
