Absolutely delighted for Sam, when with us he was a true blue, have followed his career with interest ever since. Still remember when we beat Aldershot, him running over to us with that big beaming smile and shaking us all by the hand.

Brentford stopper Sam Sodje has revealed that both West Ham and Blackburn are lining up to sign him in the summer.

 

The 26-year-old has had an impressive season for Martin Allen's side, missing just four games of their League One campaign this season.

 

However The Bees failed to achieve promotion as they exited the play-offs to Sheffield Wednesday, and could now be set to lose their star defender.

 

Sodje revealed that both clubs were tracking his progress, although insisted that Mark Hughes' side were in the ascendancy as they had tabled the best offer.

 

Alan Pardew's Hammers have also not yet achieved promotion, and it seems as though they must see off Preston in the Championship play-off final if they are to have any chance of signing the player.

 

"Blackburn have made the most significant offer so far," revealed Sodje.

 

"West Ham's play-off game will decide how far I go with them."

I would be surprised if Sodje was under a contract of more than 1 year and guess he left when it ended.

According to a post on the "bees" forum we DID get somethin for him. Not sure how credible that post is though and they dont mention a figure either.We wouldnt have been told anyway had there been a fee involved.I tend to go with Johns assumption above though.
