Any thoughts on whether Liam's 3-5-2 formation during a couple of games last term and in Andy's game was worth carrying on with?

Personally, I think if we can play 3 pacy, mobile, strong in the air defenders, especially at home, this could be the way forward. With Porter and Gooding already signed, and interest in O'Donahue (who looked very classy), the building blocks are there.

5 in the middle would give flair players like Drury and Lovell a little more freedom to join in attack and express themselves.

Ommitting Macca through injury,I can see a line up of something like this being effectivefor home games at least:

Pullen

Gooding Porter O'Donahue

Protheroe Drury Saunders Lovell Skinner/Jackson

MacDonald Onoyimni.

And Portway did? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Whilst I agree with most of this, since it is quite a forced selection (MacDonald and Manny being our only strikers, for example), I will stick by my praise of the Skinner/Jackson partnership as left back and left wing respectively. This, for me, was one of the reasons we rose out of the Ryman league and it also looked strong when implemented in the Conference this year and in '02-'03. Therefore, dull as it sounds, I say stick to the 4-4-2, a formation that has caused our rise from the mediochrity of the Beezer Homes League to our fourth season in the Conference
