Comebacks

Recommended Posts

Liverpool's recent exploits has got me wondering how many great comebacks the Rebels have been involved in.

Three which spring to mind:-

1. Slough 3-3 Yeading. A few years ago at Wexham Park, we were 0-3 down with ten minutes left before we somehow pulled it back, the equaliser (scorer forgotten) coming deep in injury time.

2. Not technically a three goal comeback, but Slough 3-3 Reading in the FA Cup all those years ago (90-91?), Allan Pluckrose and Paul McKinnon both scoring in the final minute to level it at the death.

3. Not sure of the accuracy of this, but I remember a Conference game being talked about, years ago. Stafford 3-4 Slough? A young Stan Collymore scored a hattrick for the home side before the Rebels somehow scored four times to snatch the points?

Hardly the world's greatest, but our comeback from 2-0 with 20 minutes to go at home to Yeading earlier this season was pretty good.

Also, at home to Sutton united a few years ago, but this time a Rebels throw-away at Sutton came from 4-1 down at half-time (i think) to draw 4-4.

Can't remember the date nor the team...

But 3 - 1 down to wycombe ...crowd approx 1600 i beleive....came back to win 4 - 3 ...was the greatest come back of all time for a Slough side..

I think Rowan doods scored the winner in this league match...

amazing...turn around...

Yeovil game away 3-1 down at half time Jimmy Browm comes on to score and help us to a 4-3 win this was at a time when Jimmy could'nt hit a barn door but went on to be a superb striker for the REBELS.

Got to be the Stafford game.

The first ever football match for my two lads.

The local supporters were fabulous, especially remember three old gentlemen behind us in the stand.

3-0 down at half time but an incredible 4 goals in the 2nd half.

Hooked the lads for ever!
