Well, it would be lead guitar but mine suffered a smashing the other week.

 

No idea yet, I think that is what the practice is for.

I don't want to give too much away at this stage.

 

There are 3 full time members, but we are hoping to feature a couple of guests. Maybe yourself ?

 

We have one gig, in Bethnal Green at the Pleasure Unit in August. I'll let you know the date in due course.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not interested in joining at this stage I'm afraid mate. I've been in a band before and it's a big commitment - one I cannot make while Dylan is this young.

 

But I wouldn't miss your gig for the world!!

Yeah, it is a huge commitment. If things go well I guess I'll have to quit the job to give it a go full time.

 

I think we could be massive.

What sort of music did you say you'd be doing? I'm guessing a bit of Northern Soul with maybe a touch of a Joy Division vibe?

Spot on pretty much. We are going to do a cover of Echo Beach to.

I'm in a band. It's called "The Onanist Entertains". Thinking of releasing a concept album called "Fretboard Meltdown". It'll feature 10 pieces of music (no titles, of course) which follow the theme of wah-wah and distortion wig-out bliss. It'll be aimed at the 300+ Magic Mushroom type audience. Just need to buy a new "D" string (Ernie Ball - of course!) and I'll be at it. I've got blisters on my fingers - indeed!!!!

Hmmm, well it sounds like being in a band has become cool again.

 

Maybe I should have a re-think.

 

Perhaps I should start up a new band. I mean, it's certainly good for getting nubile 17-year-old birds wanting to sleep with you.

Once, along time ago now, I agreed to sing for a mates band. I was drunk when I agreed to do it. They were just doing covers and had a gig coming up in Bradford. For some reason I chickened out of telling him that I didn't really want to do it, and that the only reason I said yes was because i was drunk.

 

Anyway, the afternoon of the gig I started drinking (I was nervous!). I was on the Special Brew/Merrydown snakebites - needless to say I was hammered. I ended up rolling around on the floor, and they had to get people out of the audience to sing the last few tracks. Never again!!

Special Brew snakebites! Man, I'd never even thought of that! I was thinking that Stella/Cloudy cider was hardcore!

Yes, Merrydown about 7.5% and SB around the 9% - the thing is, it was the "norm" back then. That's what people drunk! Crazy when I look back! I can't stand the stuff now - Stella is bad enough!!
