in my opinion, I would of kept the youth. You have seen what decent youngsters have come through. As for the PASE thingy, we will have to wait and see upon that. To me Gibson is just interested about money now and thats fair enough, but if he is, then why gamble on scrapping the youth for something that has no results? Also in my view of moving to a new ground, Gibson is the only one bothered about it,again, to proberly make money. We cant even fill half of clarence park. What makes him think suddenly everybody will come when we have a new ground? Sorry Gibbo, but my opinion of you is starting to go down. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Sorry Mad, but if St. Albans are to progress long-term, they have to relocate away from Clarence Park.

In my time, the ground share deal with Tottenham was a great success, worth some £40k to the Club for the season I would say.

Oh, and with 5/6 lamps on each pylon, the lights are a bit dearer than £35 a game. That's 44 2kw fires burning up there you know! Try £100 a match.

Oh, and good luck to my old 'friend' and adversary AFF in his renewed campaign to be Chairman.

Spurs Reserves eh... some great games, in front of paltry crowds. A couple of useful Norwegians I seem to remember... Iversen and someone else.

Leonhardsen probably.

As I am the only person I know who reads the St Albans Observer occasionally, some of you may be interested to see the following letter printed in this week's paper in response to last weeks letter from Mervyn Morgan and the comments by Gibbo:

"I would appreciate it in the balance of open dialogue if you could publish this on your letters page.

Dear Mr Chairman,

I have to admire your bare-faced cheek regarding the absolution of St Albans City Youth.

1. The state of the pitch. You want to have a word with yourself if you think B. Wood's any better (they manage to field a reserve/youth side). The real reason is no one at the club was the slightest bit interested in Arsenal Ladies playing there.

2. The continuing relationship with one of the worst managers I have seen at Clarence Park in 30 odd years of watching. He has the dubious honour of making me leave my first ever game early (20 minutes after kick-off). Don't worry, sufficient funds were spent in the clubhouse to compensate.

3. To the STH/regulars at the park, the names of Martin, Mackail-Smith, Deacon, Seeby do mean something....all former Youth players.

4. This talk of money is a misnomer. Both the reserve and youth were self-funding and it was a privilege for me to attend their games.

5. New ground? Mr Gibson come clean eh.

Yours in City,

Gary Lockerby."

1. Who cares about Arsenal Ladies? [Apart from the small loss in revenue]. The one and only time I looked in there were about 10 people in the ground. Maybe they thought being nearer Highbury would attract more support?

2. OK, Castle should have gone long before he did, but that's past history now, let's move on shall we?

3. 4. 5. Fair comments.

Hi Rob.

You refer to the 'small loss of revenue' as a result of the relocation of Arsenal Ladies to Woood. I notice from a Woood press release that they have a pre-season friendly with Arsenal [no, not the Ladies nor the Under 8 reserves, the real deal] which said words to the effect "as part of the three year agreement to accommodate their Ladies team".

Now that is a serious chunk of income.

It might be if it turned out to be the first team. Why do I get the feeling that it won't be. Can you post the press release on here, AFF, only I cannot seem to find the Boreham Wood website. Does one exist?
