What part of the re-development is permanent? Everything seems temporary this and temporary that, so when does the real building of permanent structures start?

I reckon that most people in Thanet would like to see a successful MFC. It would attract business and tourism to the area.
A few local residents may have misgivings but the vast majority of people would i am sure see the benefits of having a successful local club.
Surely that would include any elected representative including the council leader.

When we played in the Conference teams like Doncaster, Boston and Barnet brought about 500 fans each. Consider that some of those would have stayed in guest houses, while many others would have visited pubs and shops, etc, etc. The club can have a very positive impact on the local economy.

Let the people of thanet vote on if WE want a turner centre.

That was Labour's baby not the Conservatives, just to note. Sandy just inherited it.

I dont think a referendum is necessary, for either of those two places. If the Council follows its procedures correctly then a good decision should be made...note should. Bear in mind here there are two sides here and not everyone is going to get what they want. If the funding isnt in place, refuse immediately.

Sandy thinks he's got it all right. Well in my opinion he's got it all wrong. You see the bloke isnt even of thanet blood. He probably hasnt got a clue about the history of the island. Thats why he wants to sell the Port at Ramsgate, Redevelope Dreamland and build a large white elephant on the harbour that will surrender itself to the sea just like the old pier. His council are lacking funds and he wants to get rid of all of thanets assets that once gone can never be replaced.

Margate can be a tourist resort again but he's quite happy to let it all go. Manston is the key to this.

Mr Ezekiel, Westwood Cross will not keep you in power next time round. You've got it all wrong.

Sandy has not got his head screwed on right and if he doesn't support the football club then its up to us to make sure he is OUT!

Two of the subjects you raised had nothing to do with this council. Westwood cross was set up by the last council as was the turner centre, it was the labour council that sold the council land and forced the compulsory purchase order on the houses. The turner centre it was a way of getting an eu and lottery grant.

I think the issue which will be brought up here is the cost. Its a great catch 22 situation. The Conservatives promised to put the Turner Contemporary into existance but in order to do so they will have to cough up the vast majority of the cash themselves. Labours gotta be laughing to themselves about it. If the Conservatives pull out now itll forever be a stain on the Conservatives in terms of meeting promises.

Theres still time to pull out...and right now I dont think thats a bad idea. Why not just use Droit House as the art house instead of building a huge purpose built place for it?

Dear or dear what a sorry saga of events and how not to run a football club? All very tedious, but how many more years will it take for Margate to get a proper football ground

Not likely glory hunters normally pick teams that win something

Not really. The Council might give the go ahead at the next Full Council meeting. KP, I believe was reported as saying the plans should be in next meeting. With part of the plans withdrawn there is a better chance of the plans being given the green light.
