Echo & The Bunnymen

Okay, I got Ocean Rain at the weekend - gonna stick it on this afternoon.

Can't seem to find an Echo album with Dancing Horses on, though. Was it a stand-alone single??

Now I've given up alcohol, I reckon I'm going to start drinking herbal tea in the evenings and listening to Echo and the Bunnymen and The Cult.

Same question about the Cocteau Twins - which album? (Thornsy need not answer.)

The Cult??!! Rock on Dude!! It was the 20th Anniversary of She Sells Sanctury last week - it was first released on the 9th June 1985. It was the first Cult track I heard, and I loved it straight away! Wanted to go and watch them at King Georges Hall (Blackburn) on the Love tour, but was a bit too young (14 at the time). Finally saw them - it was my first gig ever - at Manchester Apollo in March 1987 on the Electric tour. Smashing!!!!!!

Had Neil Young on while we were decorating. Maybe it's a 'grower', but it didn't do much for me on first listen. Then again, I was getting pretty aggravated with the electric drill at the time, so it wasn't really getting my full attention!

Have to say I preferred Led Zep III ten-fold over the two comps I've got (Early & Latter Days). Since I've Been Loving You is a top tune! I'll be spinning it on the Ipod again this afternoon after I've done the credit control for the week!

I suppose it's got to be either the "Love" album or the "Electric" album. Love has the singles "She Sells Sanctuary" and "Rain", and I suppose it is where they start to leave their gothy sound behind and go for a more rocking sound. Electric features tracks such as "Lil' Devil" and "Love Removal Machine" and is a straight raaawk record - almost AC/DC style. I think I prefer Electric, but it was Love that got me started off, and it's got "The Phoenix" on it (which I think is the Cult's finest track).
